Frequently Asked Questions

  • Everyone! We are open to the public which means you do not need to be a BYU student, staff, or alumni to rent from us. CAUTION if you are under 18 years of age you will need a parent or guardian to sign your rental agreement for you.
  • We always suggest that someone comes in to try on boots and makes sure that the skis fit them. Each person over 18 who rents needs to sign for their own equipment. A parent or guardian may rent for their own children if they are not present, but an adult can’t rent out equipment for another adult.
  • Click on the blue “Online Reservations” button in the upper right-hand corner of this page.

We do not make reservations for ski or snowboard gear.
  • 1 day rentals are due back 1 hour before closing the day after renting. ( Example: An item rented anytime on Tuesday is due back in the store 1 hour before the store closes on Wednesday.) Rentals not returned on time will be charged an additional rental day. Summer hours (May – Oct) are 9 A.M. – 6 P.M., Winter hours (Nov – Apr) are 8 A.M. – 7 P.M.
  • Upon return we inspect all gear for damages. You will be charged depending on how severe the damage, but never more than the full price of the item. If the gear is brought back dirty/muddy there is cleaning fee starting at $10, however we do have a hose on our premises if you would like to clean the item yourself before returning it.
  • No. We are closed on Sunday, so the rental from Saturday to Monday is considered a one-day rental.
  • No. Please do not leave gear outside our store! Please wait until the next day to return the item. This is because we can’t protect this item from theft (you will be charged the full price of the item in that case) and because we need to inspect the gear for damages before it can be returned.
  • No. There are some items that cannot be reserved due to high demand such as skis and snowboards.
  • No, but we would be happy to give you some suggestions of our favorite places to go. There are also several different activity specific apps with great trail information.
  • We have in the past and would like to host adventure trips again. We are currently not hosting any trips as we haven’t had enough demand from the student population. We recommend if you are a BYU student to take one of the classes, as our gear is used in most adventure classes offered on campus.
  • No. All of our rental gear is the same price for everyone! We do offer a discount on the purchase of a new bicycle for BYU students, faculty and staff.
